This Privacy Policy explains how Quick Calc collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects information when you use the Quick Calc mobile application and related services.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We collect and use information only for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Device and Technical Information

We may collect limited technical information needed to operate and improve the application, including device model, operating system version, app version, language, time zone, network status, and an app-generated identifier stored in the device Keychain. This information is used for service authentication, application stability, security, analytics, and troubleshooting.

Usage and Diagnostic Data

We may collect limited feature usage events, error information, crash information, and performance information. This may include the feature used, event time, app version, device information, and technical error details. We use this information to operate the service, diagnose failures, improve performance, and understand how users interact with the application.

Camera and Photo Selection

Quick Calc requests camera access only when you use the AI Photo Solving feature. When you choose an image using the system Photos picker, Quick Calc accesses only the image you select. The application does not automatically scan, browse, organize, edit, or manage your entire photo library.

The selected or cropped image may be processed locally using Apple Vision for text recognition. To provide an AI solution, the selected image or cropped image may then be uploaded to our backend and Alibaba Cloud Object Storage Service (OSS).

Quick Calc does not provide a photo album, photo-management tool, or cloud-drive feature.

AI Questions and Images

When you submit a question or image to AI Photo Solving or AI chat, we process the text and image content required to answer your request. Image-based requests may be processed by Doubao/Volcengine. Text-only requests may be processed by DeepSeek. If you enable web search, the selected question may also be processed through the AI service's web-search capability.

Please do not submit sensitive personal information, identification documents, financial information, medical information, or other information that you do not want to send to an AI service.

Local Calculation History and Settings

Calculation records, currency conversion records, unit conversion records, themes, sounds, decimal settings, and other preferences are stored locally on your device. Quick Calc does not provide cloud synchronization for these local records.

Subscription Information

If you purchase a subscription, payment processing is handled by Apple through the App Store. We may receive limited subscription information, such as product identifier, purchase status, transaction status, and renewal status. We do not receive or store your payment card number.

2. How We Use Information

We may use collected information to:

• provide calculator, scientific calculation, currency conversion, unit conversion, and AI solving features;
• process questions and images submitted for AI solving;
• authenticate requests and obtain temporary service credentials;
• provide AI answers, follow-up explanations, and optional web-search results;
• provide and update exchange-rate data;
• maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the application;
• detect crashes, errors, abuse, and service failures;
• verify subscription status and provide paid features; and
• comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

We do not use submitted images to create a photo library or to provide photo-management services.

3. Sharing and Third-Party Services

We do not sell personal information. We may share information required to provide the requested functionality with the following service providers:

• Alibaba Cloud OSS: selected or cropped images may be uploaded temporarily so that the AI service can access the image.
• Doubao/Volcengine: processes image-based AI questions and optional web-search requests.
• DeepSeek: may process text-only AI questions.
• Umeng and our backend analytics service: may receive limited device, diagnostic, and feature usage information.
• Apple App Store and StoreKit: process subscription purchases and provide subscription status.

These providers may process information in countries or regions outside your country. They may process data according to their own privacy policies and applicable legal requirements.

We may also disclose information when required by law, court order, government request, or when necessary to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the application, or our services.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

• Local calculation and conversion history remains on your device until you delete it through the application or uninstall the application.
• Uploaded image objects are retained in Alibaba Cloud OSS according to our configured lifecycle policy and are automatically deleted within 24 hours after upload.
• Signed image URLs used for AI processing expire after approximately one hour. URL expiration does not replace the storage deletion policy.
• Analytics and diagnostic information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service, or as required by law.
• AI providers may retain submitted content according to their applicable terms and privacy policies.

You may request deletion of information associated with your use of the service by contacting us at the email address below. Some information may need to be retained where required by law or necessary to resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or protect security.

5. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These measures include access controls, temporary service credentials, signed image URLs, limited data access, and service-provider security controls.

No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:

• request access to personal information we hold about you;
• request correction of inaccurate information;
• request deletion of information;
• request restriction of processing;
• object to certain processing;
• withdraw camera or photo access through your device settings; and
• request information about third-party processing.

Withdrawing camera or photo permission prevents future access to those functions. It does not automatically delete information already submitted to third-party providers.

7. Children's Privacy

Quick Calc is a general-purpose calculator application. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that personal information from a child under 13 has been collected, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. Parents or guardians may contact us using the email address below.

8. Third-Party Links and Services

Quick Calc may provide links to third-party websites, including Apple's standard license agreement and privacy-related pages. Third-party websites and services have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their independent collection or processing of information.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, technology, or legal obligations change. When we update this policy, we will publish the revised version on this page and update the effective date. Continued use of Quick Calc after the updated policy becomes effective means that you acknowledge the revised policy.
